Shingles Vaccination
Protect yourself with a shingles vaccination. A vaccine to prevent shingles is now available to those aged 50 and older from our pharmacy.
You are eligible to get a free shingles vaccination for 12 months once you turn 65, talk to one of our team today.
The vaccine effect lasts for approximately 6 years and is about 90% effective in preventing shingles, and two-thirds of the patients are less likely to get pain after shingles (post-herpetic neuralgia).
What can you expect in your Shingrix Vaccination appointment?
Your vaccination will be given by injection in the deltoid muscle in the arm.
Shingrix vaccination requires 2 doses within 2- 6 months apart
You need to wait at the pharmacy for 20 minutes after the vaccine is given.
